This initial phase included subsidized housing in Lufhereng Proper and Lufhereng Extension 1. A variety of housing typologies were developed ranging from free-standing to row housing units.

By October 2020, the Lufhereng Development Company completed several new project phases, including:

Lufhereng Ext 5 & 6
Lufhereng Social Housing Phase 1 (for Joshco)
Servicing of Lufhereng Ext 7
Commenced construction of 2000 residential units as TRA's (Temporary Relocation Areas) in Lufhereng Ext 9, 10 & 11.
